Proverbs 9:1–6, Proverbs 9:13–18

Last week, we looked at "the fool" from the book of Proverbs.  This week we will study "the simple".  Rather than being stubborn like the fool, this person "lacks sense" and doesn't deeply consider his or her decisions in life.  What do they need?  Prudence (Proverbs 8:5; 14:15).  Proverbs 9:1-6 and 9:13-18 depict the various "voices" that pull at them, and they need a healthy dose of discernment and shrewdness in order to live in this world according to God's wisdom.
