Psalm 90
Teach Us to Number Our Days

It is so easy to live as if we are invincible. We jump off rope swings into Lake Murray, we fail to save for retirement, we don't go to the doctor's office when something is wrong, we drive without a seatbelt on, and many other things we could add to the list. Psalm 90 reminds us of the brevity of life. Yet it is not only short, but its years are spent on a life of secret sins and iniquity (v. 8). How can people who are morally and physically frail have any hope for that which lasts? That is the mystery of the gospel, and the work of a God who loves to use the weak and "establish the work of their hands" (v. 17). Join us this Sunday to worship and to express our dependence upon the everlasting God.
