Galatians 4:8-20
Don't Go Back

As we read the Apostle Paul is "in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you" (Galatians 4:19), it's easy to hear his zeal for the growth and maturity of the Galatian people. Yet, the aspects of a believer becoming more like Christ (sanctification) which Paul describes are quite interesting. Often we point to actions which characterize maturity in Christ, but Paul addresses it a different way. Galatians 4:8-20 describes that, before we knew Christ, we were enslaved to the things of this world. Then, as we came to know God, the temptation we face is to turn back to the things to which we were enslaved. In this sermon, we'll explore if we are living in freedom or are enslaved to the world all over again.
