The book of Ezekiel opens with a grand vision of the glory of God in chapter one, and the next 23 chapters of the book describe God's judgment on his people. They chased after other loves and served their own idols. God brought his judgment against them so "that they will know that I am the Lord." Then in chapters 25 to 32, the focus of the book shifts to the nations that surrounded Israel. God brought his judgment against the nations as well so "that they will know that I am the Lord." And yet, as we have seen multiple times in the midst of judgment, God gives a reminder to his people of his gracious intent for them. Ezekiel 28:25-26 sits at the very center of this section of judgment against the nations. It helps us see that "the subduing of God’s enemies will result in the well-being of God’s own people" (ESV Study Bible). Join us on Sunday as we explore the God's rule and reign over his own people and the nations as well.
