It would be really nice if we could primarily describe life as "easy." All our plans would come together, relationships wouldn't need work, and sin wouldn't cause disruption in our own lives or in the world we live. However, suffering exists. It is even promised for followers of Christ. We are told that "Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking" (1 Pt. 4:1). How do we think about hardship, conflict, and ease? This Sunday, we will be in 1 Peter 4:1-11 and see how the gospel reshapes our thinking about suffering and living in light of Jesus' return.
