We love all of the gospel promises. We are promised to share an inheritance, eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, adoption into the family of God, and so much more! Yet in 1 Peter 4:12-19, we are told to "rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings" (v. 13). Although we may not immediately realize it, this is an incredible blessing from God - that our suffering is not in vain, but God has a beautiful purpose which causes us to know Christ more.
